It is certainly not just individuals we help at Donations with a Difference and The Wildwood Trust is a perfect example of this, and how we collaborate with other charities and organisations to ensure that the grants we give have wide-reaching benefits.
Approached by Corporate Development Manager Kate, whose vision is for a wholly inclusive park that caters for everyone, we were delighted to provide two delightful sensory boards that are displayed in their Wildlife Park in Herne (Kent) positioned next to the Otter and Bison enclosures.
Not only do the boards provide insightful educational material they appeal to visitors needing sensory stimulation, including moving parts that can be used by visitors, soft sound effects and gentle changing textures across the panels. Positioned at a height to enable visitors in wheelchairs to easily access the panels too, means they too can gain the same sensory experience, accessible to all of the Park’s 200,000 annual visitors.
